This week I did a portrait session of cycling enthusiast James Brown on one of his favourite rides custom made at Eastgate Cycles in Gloucester. The images were a sports fashion / poster campaign cross taken in a low key style at Gloucester Quays. I'd like to say a big thanks to James acting as model for the first time and also to Graham at Eastgate Cycles who helped make this possible.
The Set Up
This diagram shows the basic light set up for most of the shots. The softbox had a grid attached to minimise light spill on the black wall behind, and a strobe high on the right also had a honeycomb grid to add rim light over James our subject. On the left wall the was a natural wood panel where on the image above I pointed a third strobe to bounce the light back on James adding a warm tint on his head and on the front of the bike.
